I have worked with caravans all my working life, I left school and started work at Widnes caravans, I did most of my training with Widnes like ALKO, Thetford, Spinflow and passed my city and guilds exams. I also went on to develop skills in Gas, Electrics and bodywork. During the time I worked at Widnes they established themselves as a Bailey repairer and during this period spent time at the Bailey Factory learning about what was then the latest in caravan technology. Since Widnes closed I approached Discover Leisure for a job and soon found myself working in the bodyshop as one of the team. About that time Bailey launched the Alu-tech product and I found myself getting involved with the ‘Alu-tech repair status’ training. I spent a number of days at Bailey learning how to replace full side walls and roof panels.
I started at A & E Leisure when Discover went bust and have enjoyed the last two years of trading, watching the company grow and seeing some of the familiar faces from years before. Being part of a smaller company means we can carry out the smaller touches that really matter. I’ve always had pride in my work but seeing directly how happy our customers are brings great satisfaction and this is the reason why I enjoy my job!
